I.   Setting up Gmail. (This part must be done before going onto step 2)

 1) Log into your ATS Gmail Account.

2) In the upper corner click the cogwheel icon, then mouse down to “Settings”

3) Click the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.

4) Ensure that IMAP Access status is Enabled, and press save.

5) Go back to the Settings menu and click on the Accounts setting.

6) Click “Google Account settings” link.

7) It will take you to another page. Once there scroll down to the "Signing in " box

8) Click 2-Step Verification) and follow the on screen instructions.

9) In the 2-Step Verification Screen, Click “App-specific passwords” and click “Manage application-specific passwords”

10)  In the Name field, type the name of what the email account will be associated with.

            (e.g. iPhone Seminary Email)

11) Then click “Generate password”

12) Keep that page open and go back to your device.

 

II. Setting up mail on your Android device

1. From the main screen, press the menu button and select Settings, then Accounts & Sync.

The Accounts & sync settings screen displays your current sync settings and a list of your current accounts.

2. Touch Add account.

3. Touch Google to add your Google Apps account.

4. Touch Sign in when prompted for your Google Account.

5. Enter your full Google Apps email address as your username, and then enter your password that Google gave you from the instructions above.

6.  Enter imap.gmail.com in the server field, SSL in the security field, and press next.

7. Enter smtp.gmail.com in the server field, SSL in the security field, and press next.

That's it! You can now use your Asbury Seminary account from your Android. Just launch Gmail, Google Calendar, or whichever app you want to use, from your device's home or applications screen.
